Puccini Festival 2023

There will be 16 evenings, between opera and ballet, in the Gran Teatro Giacomo Puccini in 2023.
The Board of Directors of the Puccini Festival Foundation has in fact approved the titles of the 66th edition of the Puccini Festival.
There will be 15 opera evenings by the lake with five Puccini titles:
Tosca (17th, 24th July and 2nd, 21st August)
Turandot (18, 31 July and 8, 16 August)
Manon Lescaut (July 25, August 7)
Boheme (1, 9, 22 August)
Madama Butterfly (14 and 23 August)
a ballet evening (13 August).


Hotel I Pini feels very attached to the figure of Giacomo Puccini. In fact, Puccini chose his friend Galileo Chini for the construction of the sets and some of his most important works. At that time they had their meetings frequently  in the home of  Galileo Chini.

Puccini chose Galileo Chini for his extraordinary imagination, who oversaw the setting for Tabarro and Gianni Schicchi for the New York premiere of 1914.

Puccini was so pleased with his art/historical accuracy, that for the staging of his last opera, Turandot, he chose again for Chini, especially for his direct knowledge of the atmospheres from the East.

Every year,  Torre del Lago celebrates the bond with Giacomo Puccini, where he composed many of his most famous works.
